New Here

New to Boscombe Baptist or new to Church — we're here to help!

Hi…

Welcome to Boscombe Baptist Church!

We’re a Bible-believing, family-friendly church based just around the corner from Boscombe High Street.

We’re a church made up of ordinary people of different ages, ethnicities and backgrounds who meet together to worship the God who has revealed Himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Given the fact that our existence is based on this life-changing truth, it would seem rather odd if we kept it to ourselves…

We want YOU to encounter Jesus!

We make no secret of it!

Jesus Christ claimed to be God incarnate: that is, to be both God and man. He alone is God’s revelation from heaven. He taught of our need for forgiveness for our sins, available to us through faith in Him.

No doubt you’ll remember the stories from Jesus’ life — the unique circumstances of His birth, the miracles He performed and His teaching. You likely learned about them as a child — perhaps you’ve rarely considered them since.

But what if it were true? What if Jesus was who He claimed to be — if Jesus really was, and is, God. Because make no mistake — this is what He claimed!

Surely such an outrageous claim is worthy of some serious thought — a claim so outrageous that it led to His own gruesome death by crucifixion. But His death wasn’t the end of the story!

What’s in a Church?

The Bible tells us that the gathered community of believers makes up a church – it’s not about a building or a place, but a people redeemed by the grace of God through faith in Jesus. The Church literally exists to worship God and bear witness to Him.

The Christian life isn’t meant to be lived in solitude and we recognise our need to journey well together as a community of believers. So, following the example of the early Church, we meet together regularly for worship and other activities.

On a Sunday, we will usually sing a mixture of modern worship songs and traditional hymns, be led in prayer, and a Bible-based talk is given. Children typically stay with us for the first part of the service before going into age-appropriate groups for their own activities and teaching.

If you’re visiting us, you won’t have to ‘do’ anything — we welcome you to simply come and check us out; and we hope that you will feel comfortable and welcomed during your time with us.

Explore Christianity

We regularly run a course called ‘Christianity Explored’.

The course gives an opportunity to explore the teachings of Jesus in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. Message us to find out more.
